Peppy learns to whistle

He started whistling back to me today, for the first time. 
I hate to gush, but he has come so much farther than I ever thought he would. When I first got him I hoped I would eventually be able to train him to a buddy perch, and now here he is cuddling, stepping up (actually more like leaping up, but I won't fault him for enthusiasm), going with me for tours around the house, etc. You really can teach an old bird new tricks. That makes it sound like I think I've taught him these things, but I know it is most likely a case of rekindled memories. Anyway, what a sweetheart he has turned out to be.
