Batman

I was considering Biteman. Or the Green Goblin. Perhaps Feathergrouch. I shall have to consult Jade because she likes Batman and the rest are indifferent. When they do the fight scenes and splatter "Biff! Pow! Krrrrunch!" and such things on the screen, she bobs her head. I don't know if it's the bright colors or the sound effects because I don't THINK she can read (though I wouldn't be surprised) but she seems to get the jokes. A couple of days ago we were watching one where Batman parked the Batmobile at a meter and dug into his cape for a nickel and Robin said, "No police officer is going to give the BATMOBILE a parking ticket!" and Batman said, "This is good citizenship, old chum. This money helps pay for maintaining the roads and highways" and Robin nodded sagely and said, "Of course, you're right." I howled, because they were in a tearing hurry to beat the bad guy to the penthouse of this building and yet they stopped to feed the meter and have a sober discussion of good citizenship and Jade laughed, too. Perhaps she's comparing Batman and Robin to Starsky and Hutch, which we were watching daily until I got the Batman DVDs. Starsky always finds a parking space right in front of anywhere they're going and I've never, ever seen him feed a meter or discuss good citizenship.
