He is a lucky guy, alright! I am so happy for both of you. It just goes to show you should never give up hope for a happy outcome.

I hate to say it, but I'm starting to feel it is not actually Rio...:/ Not only has he not said anything since I brought him home, but he acted differently with my boyfriend, he usually loves him the most and is very talkative when he is around. The voice also sounds different with noises he makes and such...His beak just seems to be different, when he preens me its a lot harder like he's not used to preening people only other birds. He kind of nips the skin. IDK, even my boyfriend said that he doesn't think its him...if its not for sure then I will let the humane society know in case someone else reports a Quaker missing, plus in case they find the real Rio... I just don't know why he wouldn't be speaking at all, he is a major talker and with his voice sounding different too...I'm giving him a few more days to see. If no one else has lost a Quaker then I will still keep him, though Verde is not thrilled with him...

Uh oh... That doesn't sound right. Darn it! I would say I hope it is actually Rio, but I would guess that if you as his owner feels it isn't him, you are probably right. I'm sorry to hear that. I guess perhaps you can take heart that you might be able to help out a different little quaker in need... I am sure that is a disappointment of epic proportion though.

Well, I am not going to give up hope for you that it is him. I could speculate on why he might not seem himself, but that isn't very helpful at this point.

Just thought I'd update since its been so long. The other bird is not Rio for sure. Not only does this bird still not talk but now "her" and Verde are bonded. I say her because while I don't know for sure, her and Verde act like a couple. They feed each other, they snuggle, and Ivy as I've named her, is working on building a nest. I got a nest box when they tore up their little hut because they seemed to want a place to sleep. Well Ivy has been filling it with random things I put in the cage. Her personality is definitely different than Rio's so I am very sad that it is not Rio and he has not been found, but I am glad Verde has a birdy girlfriend to love. Him and Rio barely tolerated each other. I think Ivy really wants to breed, but still not sure Verde cares to lol.

What a shame that it is not Rio. But how lucky is Ivy to have found you? Hopefully Rio has found a home with someone else.

Hi again! I echo Jan's comment above. Let's hope Rio has a great home somewhere - not beyond the realms of possibility, seeing as you found a quaker (maybe someone like you has found him too).

Thanks for the update. I was wondering about you very recently. I am sorry it did turn out to be Rio, but like the others I hope someone kind took him in.

I'm sorry that you didn't find Rio. That's very sad, but I'm glad little Ivy found you. I guess that was meant to be. Hopefully Rio has found a safe place to stay.
