We are at the World Superbikes at Phillip Island & we brought Bonnie with us! My hubby came down Thurs with She Who Must Be Obeyed and the camper trailer & I rode my Ducati Monster down after work on Fri. Well, Her Rudeness has squawked non-stop and is giving the superbikes a run for their money in the noise department. I noticed that the squawking has lost intensity & volume a bit (I think) and was wondering if quakers can go hoarse...any thoughts?

Don't get my hopes up Biteybird. The thought that Shah could get hoarse from squawking is just too much to hope for.

I don't know, but their voice boxes are a little different, and I wouldn't count on it, either. There have been studies on wild birds in urban environments and in places like mine where there is a lot of gas and oil drilling, and the birds just learn to be louder. You can take pride in Bonnie's adaptive ability.

I was completely mistaken about the squawking tapering off... she was off and away again by 7:30 this morning (despite feral bikies keeping us awake till 4am two nights in a row, doing burnouts and partying). Obviously I've underestimated Bonnie's adaptive ability, easttex, which won't happen again.
