Hello all, just a quick question, are all pellets basically the same? I can only get zupreem naturals at my local pet stores. Are they good enough to be Sonics main portion of his diet? I offer him fruits and veggies every day but he doesn't seem interested. If you guys know of a better brand for him let me know I will order it online if I have to. I just want to give him the best diet I can. Thanks, hope all of you and your fids have a great day.

I prefer Harrison's because they are certified organic, which means they are using components that contain less pesticide residue, and more importantly are not GMO (genetically modified organisms). When it comes to anything that has Soy or Corn in it, this does matter. However, I am not trying to say all of the other pellets are bad... This is simply why we choose to use the ones we do. As easttex often says, the best pellets are the ones your bird is willing to eat.  . At any rate, the Harrison's brand can easily be ordered on Amazon. But the Zupreem is a popular pellet and perfectly adequate if you want to go that route. |

I've fed Reptar Roudybush for the last 2 years and she loves it and is healthy as a horse. It's the only brand her vet really recommends and it's sold at any Petsmart.

Kermit has been on Zupreem pellets for 18 years. Still going strong!

Mr P will only eat Zupreem pellets. I did get him off the fruit stuff and onto the natural but they are still zupreme. I have tried every other pellet out there and he will not eat anything but zupreem. My vet (well, his, I use a regular dr) has told me repeatedly that zupreem is fine and ANY pellet is better than a seed diet. The best pellet is one they will eat! You should supplement the pellets with fresh fruits, veggies and whole grains as well |
