Clyde has always had an unhealthy interest in fixing my hair and preening my eyebrows and he prefers my hair over my forehead. I am presently growing out bangs, so when he fixes my hair over my forehead, I can't see. It is apparently a conspiracy, because Jade has now decided she wants to fix hair, too, and insists upon pulling my hair over my forehead and therefore over my eyes, too. This is, however, an improvement over her previous habit of grabbing a beakful of hair and yanking as hard as she can, which is pretty hard. I put up with that because we were interacting and with Jade, you take what you can get. But this is better. She just preens it and and fixes it to suit her and bobs her head and raises her wings to show how happy she is about it.

Two out of two Quakers agree: you look better with bangs. Why fight it?

LOL. Don't think it hasn't occurred to me. But I have tried to grow out bangs so many times and I always get sick of hair in my eyes and bad hair days and give in and cut them or go have them cut. I'm 53 and have NEVER not had bangs. I am determined to at least try it in spite of Quaker resistance.

I've always liked one of the 80s-look haircuts, with short back and sides and a big floppy fringe. Just have the fringe ('bangs'?) above your eyebrows so you can see! It's nice that your FIDs feel protective of your 'street' look; they wouldn't want to let you out without being preened!

I'm totally NOT doing anything 80s. LOL I'm a flower child of the 70s and that's what I'm going for. Think Farrah Fawcett's feathered look or Lynda Carter when she was on Wonder Woman. And no, I don't care that I"m 53 and they were 20-something when they had those hairstyles. One thing about turning 50 is you cease to care about that sort of thing. LOL
