So, in the continuing saga of Pele and his target training, I have not posted a video in a long time. We were working on some other things that really couldn't be seen in a video. The last 2 weeks, we have been working on getting Pele comfortable on this little portable playstand, far away from his cage. Now that he is comfortable, we are encouraging him to climb off the portable playstand and check out the other one, next to it. He appears to prefer stepping onto boings (he has one in his cage) rather than solid wood perches.
I got a new phone, sorry the vid is a little dark

That is one motivated little bird! They say an army travels on its stomach; I guess a pious does also. At least that one does.

Pumpkin seeds. The bird LOVES pumpkin seeds. Then again, Pele loves to eat. Pionus are related to Amazons. That probably explains it.

Gary, I was thinking exactly that just before I read your post. Creepy! Bonnie loves eating too, but still weighs just 100-105 grams. Maybe it's because she's a blue quaker.
