Hello to all! My name is Mary, Charm's, new parent. Charm is a 2 month old, Quaker Parrot. I fell in love with him the minute I met him. I named him, Charm, because he is a charmer. His personality is vivacious, humorous, talented and smart. I've had Charm for a week. He adapted to his new cage, toys and food pretty quickly, showing no signs of fear or worry. He's just got a lot of gusto, so I began, quite early on target training him from his cage and he picked up on that right away. The next couple days, we just worked strongly on target training and giving him praise for playing with his toys and being totally comfortable with my hand when I targeted him to my hand. a few days ago, I began working with him on "step-up" and he is enjoying knowing that little talent, so he loves target training and hand to perch training. I have some issues I'd like to discuss, since I'll be returning to work in September. A little bit about me....I have a little chihuahua, a parakeet and, as of last year, lost my 15 year old, Papillion, Sophie to cancer. Family pets mean a lot to me and I want to be a great parrot parent. Hope to get to know you all and look forward to inspiring me, advising me and helping me through this time with Charm. Stay safe and thank you! Mary

Hi and welcome to the forum, Casey is the leader to our two little dogs ( cotons) and some finches. He keeps an eye on the window and often wakes them up to bark
Charm sounds like a smart little guy, you are making great progress !
