Hi just got my first Quaker he is 8 weeks old and just adorable. I was still feeding him formula but he is not interested at all. He is eating seed but I think he is only picking out one type. He seems happy but he does nap regularly throughout the day crawling into his little hutch. Hoping he is ok

Welcome to the Forum! I have no experience with baby parrots as young as your little QP, but it seems reasonable to me that he would nap during the day-- as most babies of all kinds do. Before long, you should be able to start introducing some new foods to him too. If you haven't already done so, you may want to take him to a veterinarian experienced in caring for birds for his first "well bird" checkup. It's always a good idea to do that shortly after acquiring a new parrot.

Welcome to you and your baby! :)We got Bonnie at 8 weeks old and didn't need to feed her formula at all, as she'd already learnt to eat pellets and seeds on her own. As Gary said, maybe take him for an initial checkup and he can eat some fresh foods (fruit, veg in small amounts, NO AVOCADO=TOXIC). You might also ask some questions about whether he'd be best on pellets rather than seeds. Let us know how you go!

I have introduced some fruits he seems to enjoy apple but I don't know how much he is eating due to the amount of small stuff on the cage floor. He has really taken to any other fruits yet but its early days. I have mixed some of the pellet style food in with his seed mix so hopefully he will learn to like. He is just so happy so I am sure he is fine. I will definitely arrange a vet checkup soon for him. Thanks for the advice
