So my Yoshi is almost 7 months old and he has this weird trait about him. He loves to tap things with his foot. at first i was thinking it was because he loved hearing his bell ring on his toys. but he now does it to everything. He will tap his foot on his phone book pages, on his coffee filter toy, and most things. Is this just something he likes to do or a nervous thing? Anyone else's do this?

Bonnie doesn't do this. Is it always the same foot? If so, maybe it's sensitive or something.

Some birds will tap their feet as a sign of dominance, could that be it?

Hi again, Yoshi actually looks pretty relaxed in your video. Maybe he is just enjoying playing with a toy. See if you can notice if it's always his right foot or not - I'm sure others will chime in with advice, too. Sorry if I'm not very helpful!

That is what I was thinking he started with his bell toy so i was thinking he just like to hear his bell ring now he does it to everything about 60% of his wake time. He does not seem stressed at all and he is just getting over a molt.

He does not seem stressed at all I think that is the key - if he doesn't seem stressed I probably wouldn't worry too much about it (I assume he's not biting his foot/feet or plucking feathers).

This is kind of my stock answer when you see some really puzzling behavior, but if Yoshi hasn't had a vet check, I would get him one. Repetitive behavior like that could mean something or nothing at all, but better to be safe. I would at least call an avian vet to see what they have to say.

Mr P taps on stuff with his beak. When I show people videos of him doing this, they refer to him as "the drummer". He does it cause he likes to. He likes the noise his beak makes against stuff, his bell, his food dishes, the sides of his cage. He keeps a really good beat going too.
Does Yoshi do this when music is playing or does that matter?

He does it anytime. He likes to yell (sing) along with music. My male cockatiel will beak bang to show you it is theirs. So not sure He will be going to the vet after the new year for a check up. I called them and they said it is nothing but we check him out anyways.

He certainly sounds okay. Probably just a growing boy. But it's good to get them vet checked periodically, just like we get the occasional physical. He gets a health baseline, and you can get some great advice on diet and behavior. And if he ever has to go in because of illness or injury, it hopefully won't be such a frightening experience. I have not yet taken my own advice with Peppy, though, since he doesn't easily come out of his cage. Working on that.
