My little cockatiel, Rebel, passed into spirit this afternoon. She was fine when I got home and I just popped in to give them their peas and corn and I found her dead on the floor of the cage. She was still warm. She will be sadly missed by her partner (and father) Pippin and their offspring, Spike. Even Shah is very quiet. I showed them the body - Pippin freaked out but Shah was very interested - he didn't attack her - he just looked at her for a while. I will miss her - she was the only one who put herself back in the cage at bedtime.

She was only about 7 years old. Tried putting Spike in with Pippin but Pippin went berko so think I will just introduce them slowly. They do live in cages next to each other. It would be so much simpler if they could go in 1 cage as it might stop Pippin from fretting. He is looking for Rebel - poor boy. It has been a shock for both Pippin and myself.

Very sad, all around. I'm not a religious person, but these things always make me think of the "not a sparrow falls" verse from the bible. She must have had a very good life with you.
