Hi, all-- I know there was a mention of traveling in an earlier post, but I wanted to specifically ask if anyone has experience with buying/using backpacks. We are hoping to eventually travel with our little Barnaby, but I'm reluctant to buy a backpack/carrier without more info from others, as I've heard that "you'll probably only buy one in your bird's lifetime," so-- what if I spend lots of money and Barnaby is scared of it? or... whatever. Would love your thoughts.

Sorry that I can't help with that. I've never used the birdie backpacks, and I'm quite sure neither of my parrots would have anything to do with one. I have a small sturdy cage that I use to transport Ralph or Scooter.

We’ve only used a travel carrier, never a backpack. I just looked at our local parrot store and they have a number of backpacks on their website. A store might be able to give you some ideas but since Barnsby is young whichever one you choose you could just leave it near his cage so he gets used to seeing it Don’t rush putting him inside By the time you try you should know what his favourite treat is to have it waiting inside the cup for him.
