I haven't purchased a bird yet. Just getting aquatinted to Gwinner knowledge. I'm looking at the Quaker and Pocket parrots. Any advice anyone can give me is welcome.

The best advice I can give is to do lots and lots of research. Learn all you can about the types of parrots you're considering. This Forum is a good place to start researching Quaker parrots. The posts are filled with information and good advice, and even some fun stories about QPs. You might also read some books on Quaker parrots, such as Mattie Sue Athan's Guide to the Quaker Parrot and An Owner's Guide to the Quaker Parrot by Pamela Leis Higdon. If you are able to meet some parrots of the kinds you're interested in try to do so and spend a little time getting to know them. And feel free to ask any specific questions you may have right here on the Forum. Good luck in making your decision.
