I inherited my Mom’s Quaker, “Booty” after she passed in 2017. Booty is approximately 20 years old. Smart as a whip. Although, I haven’t been successful at teaching him any new words. Is this common with rescues?
Rehomed parrots can continue learning new words well into old age. But any parrot will only learn new words when they choose to, and it isn't always the ones we want them to learn. Parrots have their own ideas about such things, but don't give up. Keep working with Booty and he may surprise you by saying something new.
