I bought Charlie home five days ago. Charlie is a bird of 4 years and of unknown sex and frankly, I'm not really fussed however Charlie is sitting on mu shoulder and regurgitating food from time to time. Is this perhaps a sign that Charlie is a girl or do both sexes feed their chix so both are quite likely to regurgitate. As I said, I'm not fussed either way and if it became an issue I could easily have him DNA feather checked.

Both sexes regurgitate food. Doing it is a sign of affection, it sounds like Charlie is starting to bond with you. Just be careful not to pet their back as that is too stimulating for a parrot.

I recently bought a quacker parrot. 2 months old. He was regurgitating too. In his first pet visit, the vet did a test and turned out he had an infection in his stomach. He was treated with antibiotics for two weeks and stopped regurgitating at all. It might be a good idea to ask you vet about it.
