Hi, my name is Jeane,I am new. I just got my Quaker today.She is 18 yrs old and lost her mommy. She is sad and I hope I can cheer her up and become her new mommy. Jeane

Hi Jeane. I got my 21 year old Quaker a few months ago when he lost his daddy. He got passed around a bit and was probably more confused than sad by then. They do feel the losses, but I'll bet you will get her cheered up soon. Just be patient and loving and ask any questions that come up.

Welcome, Jeane, and your newly adopted Quaker. Show her lots of love and tell her how happy you are that she's with you and that you want her to be happy too. Parrots understand things like that.

Hi Jeane, welcome to you and your new companion. You must be a special person to adopt an older birdie (as you are, Easttex)! What colour is she and what is her name? Gary is right, she will understand lots of the things you tell her.
