Hey guys, I recently purchased a QP. My parents raised me with exotic animals all my life, our Macaw recently passed away and I just felt like I needed to have a bird in my life again. Although this Quaker is much younger I still have questions. I’m still hand feeding and he eats about 4 times a day, I make sure his crop is always full. Poop looks good too. He doesn’t seem interested in his food anymore. He will eat but he wants to bite down the the syringe. Are these signs of wanting to eat solid food? Also, My concern is he’s constantly fluffing his feathers. Could it be because he’s too young? He also seems bored & tired. He will eat and go back to sleep. Again could this be because he’s still young? Any help would be appreciated. I’ve had a Quaker when I was 5 years old and don’t remember much about them except that they tend to imitate noise LOL he would mock me when I would cry.

Welcome! I don't have any experience with handfeeding or with parrots as young as yours, and I certainly don't want to give you bad advice. Maybe someone else here can be more helpful.

Hi and welcome! Hand feeding can be hard, making sure it’s the correct temperature and their crop stays healthy. It would be best for you to contact the breeder or a vet. I hope your quaker starts to feel better
