Hi, I am new to this forum and am very glad to have found it. It's already been very helpful to me before I even had time for this introduction. I have two quakers Willy is a male and is a green quaker and Tilly is a female and is a blue quaker. Tilly is about six years old and I've had her for most of that time. Tilly is an amazing bird and very talkative and smart. Willy is only five months old and extremely sweet. I have set up a really nice bird tree with plenty of toys and everything they need to be healthy and happy. I love watching them become friends and it's coming along very well with them sharing the bird tree and exploring each others cages. I am a retired grandma and I live in Surprise, AZ. and I just found out that we actually have colonies of two hundred or more wild quakers and as many love birds also in Mesa, AZ., which is an hour and a half drive from where we are so now I am set to find out exactly where these birds are and see them for myself.

Welcome, Gumma, Tilly & Willy. Wow, a colony of wild quakers would be quite a sight! I'm in Australia so will never get to see that (unless I leave my job for a while & travel to US, LOL). Hope you enjoy the forum.

Hi again, Gumma. I'm going to guess that Gumma comes from something your grandkids called you. I saw flocks of wild Quakers on a visit to Uruguay and would suggest that you'll hear them before you see them, especially if they have just landed. It is quite an experience, for multiple senses!
