I've always had a bird. Right now i have a 4 yr old female Quaker and 2 parakeets, 2 chihuahuas and about 30 guppies. The dogs were given to us, the quaker was given to us and 1 parakeet was a rescue from humane society. The Quaker used to be friendly but last spring she started laying eggs and became very aggressive. I only let her out for about 3 hours a day because of the dogs. She will come by me especially if i'm eating crackers. Its not important to me for the bird to be really friendly. it would be nice. I'd like her to start talking again but I'm working on it.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I assume she isn’t laying right now. One idea would be to rotate the toys and perches in her cage weekly so she isn’t cage possessive. It also sometimes helps if you bring her to another small room away from her cage and the dogs to work with her and talk to her a bit each day. If she isn’t ready for that, sitting near her and talking and offering her treats in her cage could be a start Good luck. I hope something works
