If I'm going to be out of the bird room for more than a few minutes, I take Rocky and his taxi with me rather than leave him with the little birds unattended. They give him a wide berth, but just in case. Also, he screams like a banshee if I'm out of his sight.
Last night, we had been watching a DVD and it was time to eat, so I put Clyde down (he's always on me when I'm in there) and proceeded to roll Rocky's taxi toward the door to go eat. Clyde flew at me, squawking the sound he makes when he's mad, landed on my back and chomped the back of my neck, hard. That's what he does to punish me when I've been REALLY bad. I'd been in there for an hour watching TV and petting him!!!! Never happy.

In the Parrots' Slave Manual, it says "thou shalt not give attention to another parrot while I'm with you." That may have come into play here. While I don't get attacked for giving one parrot attention while the other is out with me, I do get admonished. Ralph has a certain squawk that I know means "Hey! Remember me?" that I get if I talk to Scooter. And if I'm paying too much attention to Ralph, Scooter will say "Hey there parrot!" in a louder voice than she usually uses. Sorry you got chomped again.

He certainly doesn't allow poor Freddie to get much sitting-on-Mom time. Freddie isn't big on sitting on Mom, but now and then he perches on my head and pecks the crap out of me for a giggle. Clyde objects strenuously to that -- not the pecking me, he isn't being protective, but to Freddie having the utter gall to think he can sit on me. Yet Rocky, who is the clingiest bird on the planet, will sit on his taxi and take a nap while I watch videos and pet Clyde and doesn't make a fuss until he wants a snack or a drink, for the most part.
