I unexpectedly ended up rescuing a green cheek that is untamed. I know i have a lot of work ahead taming this guy but my question is introducing him to my quaker. How do you go about this? They will remain in separate cages but i would eventually like to see if they can get along outside of their cages.

After quarantine (30 days in separate rooms so they don't give each other any sicknesses), try putting the cages in the same room but several feet apart with both birds IN their cages for a couple of days and see how they react to each other. Then put the cages next to each other (but not touching, so they can't reach each other) and see what happens. If they both seem interested instead of annoyed, try letting them out together, with your supervising closely (do not leave them alone together) and watch their interaction. Only let them be together supervised until you can be certain they either like each other or are willing to ignore each other.

Clyde and Freddie are not friends by any stretch. But they have plenty of space to hang out in without interacting and Freddie acknowledges Clyde as Alpha Bird, so when Clyde wants the treat cup or a perch, Freddie flies off and lets him have it. I feel completely confident in leaving them alone together. But we reached this point after weeks and weeks of supervision.
