I was worried for a while, but Aldo seems to have adjusted to Otey not being there. He's finally taken an interest in the lovebirds, too.
When I open the cage doors for some free flight time, he'll watch them but won't engage too much. When one of the boys perched on my husband's shoulder (a favorite place), Otey did fly over and landed on the arm of the chair. He didn't interact with either my husband or Ollie, but he rarely leaves the safety of his cage. Rather a big step.
Other good news is that Lovie, our lovebird hen, seems to have finally hit little birdie menopause and has stopped cranking out eggs constantly. It hasn't improved her mood but she doesn't make quite the mess as she did before.

It's good to get an update on your flock. Sounds like everybirdie's doing well.

Birds mourn just like humans do. It takes them a while to adjust when one of the flock goes away.

Yeah, it does sound like he is better than he was. What a relief.
