Lately it's been too quiet here on the Forum. Doesn't anyone have anything to say? Could it be that everyone's parrots are behaving like angels? Certainly that alone would be worth posting about. Even if it's just to say hello, come on-- post something!

Hi Gary!
Things have been pretty sad around here. Zach and I made the decision to euthanize our little handicapped budgie, who we had for three years. She developed a respiratory problem that medications didn't help, and she was ready, anyway.
The next step after medicating was a different type of x-ray where she would have to be put under general anesthesia which she might not survive.
Since we were talking about euthanasia anyway, we decided to go ahead with the x-ray. Well, the night before her appointment we decided to just let her go, which was a good thing because she passed away peacefully during the x-ray. Afterward the doctor gave her the euthanasia medication just to be sure.
We haven't gotten the results yet.
In other news, along the same lines, my vet asked me if I would be interested in taking in another budgie she's caring for...this is one she made the owner sign over to her because the owner neglected two fairly good sized tumors on her wing, and brought her in for euthanasia. The owner didn't want to pay for surgery to fix an otherwise healthy bird, so the vet took the bird. And offered her to me. I'm pretty flattered, actually! I don't know if we're going to take her, though. We're trying to downsize our multi species flock. LOL
Bilbo got his checkup and might have Cushing's disease (my horse has it too). His vet should be calling us today to go over the results of his blood work.
Porkchop, my Guinea pig, had a tumor removed from his back a few months ago and is happy as a clam, going strong.
Taz, Chewy and Diablo are all doing wonderful!
Zach and I are doing great, this August we'll celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. 😊 I'm working on getting a jewelry business up and running.
Ummm.....I think that about covers everything! LOL

Hi, Dani-- Good to get an update. You've certainly been busy. Sorry about your little budgie. I remember when you posted about bringing her into your flock. You gave her a good loving home for three years, and I'm sure she will be missed. I can understand why you might choose not to take in another bird just now. Hope everybody stays well now-- and good luck with your new business.

Well, I feel kind of bad, because up until the last two months or so I would check in every day or two. I guess life gets in the way sometimes, just family court case and injuries, etc....but I definitely feel better reading the quaker parrot forum posts. Sometimes we just have to remind ourselves of what makes us feel good.

Hi guys!
Just checking in to say hello! Sorry I have been so absent. Life has been quite intense, but we're all doing well, including little Cupcake, who is sweet as ever. I do manage to post a picture or video of her periodically on Instagram, but that's about it for my social media activity these days. Still working on my health, which is stubborn, but definitely improved a lot since I was last here.
Hope everyone is doing well!!

G'day, all! I don't check in as regularly as I used to...about once every couple of weeks. But I enjoy reading people's posts when I do. Hope you're all well.

Hi guys, sorry I haven't been around much. Life sometimes gets in the way. I lost my little dog, Emma, about 6 weeks ago - she was diagnosed with a massive tumour on her heart and died 4 days later. I lost one of my best friends about 3 weeks ago - we spent nearly every day together. It was unexpected and she was in hospital in Venice for 5 weeks before she finally passed. It was terrible. My little cat, Rosie, also has a heart problem and is on lots of medication - the original vet she saw in May gave her weeks. But she is hanging in there. My vet says she will have a very short life so I am making sure she has the best time possible. Shah is doing fine. I will try and check in a bit more frequently.
