A few days ago, someone finally came to mow the lawn at the apartment complex where I live (and it needed mowing badly). Normally the parrots don't pay much attention to the lawn mowing operation, but this time, Ralph started in on some Quaker alarm calls-- which upset Scooter. Even though she's a CAG, she understands what a QP alarm call means. When I looked out the window, I saw that the lawn man was wearing a bright orange hooded sweatshirt. Ralph hates bright orange, which explained the alarm calls. Maybe I'd better have a talk with the lawn man about his choice of clothing...  |

Poor Scooter, such a scary intruder! Casey does the warning cry for anyone out front even two doors down, and gets one of my dogs joining in. Hopefully next time he won’t be wearing orange because if this rain keeps up your lawn will need lots of cutting

Gary, this made me laugh so much, as the other day our inside fan had to get fixed and the tradies came by wearing fluoro orange shirts.... Well, OMG, it was the End Of The Word, elicitng the Quaker Alarm Call for several minutes....:0 My only explanation to them was "Oh sorry, she just hates the colour orange" - they looked amused. I guess we've all been there.  |
