I've been looking at scales to keep track of my babies weight but the ones specifically for birds are very expensive while the basic food scales are pretty cheap. How can i adapt a food scale to use as a bird scale?

I just use a food scale for Casey. I put a coffee cup on it then tare the weight Then I put Casey on the rim off the cup and it reads her weight If your scale doesn’t tare you can weigh the cup first then just subtract that once you put your Quaker on it. Casey is small she weighed in at 91 grams the other day. Pretty much the same the last 12 years

We just use a kitchen scale, cheapist you can get. Plonk the bird on it. If you want the bird to stay still for long enough, just hold a treat (we use a pumpkin seed) to hold their attention for a few seconds. Works every time.

I did buy a cheapo kitchen scale and will have to try different ways to weigh him. The cup idea sounds like it would work great. Still waiting to get my baby Quaker. A couple more weeks we're hoping he will be weaned. So excited. Ive gotten everything ready (spent a small fortune) so all i need now is my baby!
