Hi my name is Linda, I have kept parrots for years, from macaws to senagals, but I have been without a parrot for about a year now, I HATE IT I am a disabled house wife, we have reptiles but they are not the same, I need someone to talk to, I know you understand, after a lot of persuading on my part we are getting our first quaker later this week, I know they are one of the best talkers/ mimics next to greys, we had greys in the past I have always wanted a quaker ever since our breeder had them my hubby always said they were glorified budgies! hence the persuading but now we limited space for a cage as we only give our animas the best, no kids thank you! I have lists and lists of names so far we cannot decide

Hello from Texas! I'm another Linda. It's funny, but I have come to appreciate reptiles more since I fell in love with birds. I think of them all as little dinosaurs. You will enjoy Quakers. Chock full of personality, but not quite as complicated as some of the larger parrots, in general.

Welcome to the Forum! You'll soon discover that life with a Quaker parrot is seldom dull. Good luck in choosing a name for your new feathered friend-- with so many under consideration, you'll have a lot of thinking to do.

And welcome....from ANOTHER Linda (Gary, do you feel like the odd one out here?)! Don't try to rush the name thing, see what your little parrot is like first, then one may just 'leap out' at you. Let us know how you go when you get him/her later in the week.

(Gary, do you feel like the odd one out here?)! Being surrounded by Lindas doesn't seem like such a bad thing to me.
