I have a 8 year old Quaker Parrot named Penny. He has always enjoyed bath time. In fact he reminds me he wants a bath by sitting next to his water dish.
Now when it's bath time he won't get in his bathtub. He wants nothing to do with it.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Bonnie does this, too! I think now she's not a baby she often is "oppositional defiant" in her behaviour (some of us on the Forum have joked in the past that all quakers are bi-polar!). What I do with Bonnie is...I 'mist' her with a water spray bottle when she is in her cage. I don't spray it directly on her but above her, so it falls down through the bars and doesn't get in her beak/nose holes or earholes. The first couple of times she squarked like crazy (you know, that quaker alarm call!) and tried to avoid it, but now she likes it and sits happily on her perch whilst being misted. She even comes closer to the water spray now and lets me spray her from the side onto her wings/back. She actually enjoys being soaked by the spray bottle and sits preening afterwards. It's quite cute. Hope this helps.

My lil guy buddy does this sometimes..takes a bath every other day or so,then none for a few days even a week. At the beginning when he was only 3 months old,I thought he'd never bathe. So I changed from a stainless steel pan to a glass lasagne pan with a slate rock in it and a black plastic cafeteria tray underneath. Seemed to work right away as he could see the bottom or step onto the rock. He hates stainless anyway. But again sometimes he would refuse so I went to baiting him...put a couple toys in the water and put a couple treats, walnut crumbles on the handles. He would eat them, sip the water, then decide to walk around the edges and eventually get in..cute as they test the water with their feet ! Other times I just left the room,or sat down away from his bath and that worked too..to find him up on his sisal rope near the ceiling drying off. At times like now when he's molting,I run a warm mist humidifier under his rope and he usually sits atop his rope like it's his spa or gently mist him. He looks like a little angel saying his prayers with his eyes closed and his beak pointed up to the sky ! Hope this helps..best wishes.

Pidge has a white casserole dish as a swimming pool and he plays happily in it. He doesn't reach his back or under his wings so occasionally I lay him back on my hand and put him under a running tap. By the time he objects he is done.

By the time he objects he is done. You're lucky pidgesmom. .that would get me a few bites and make my house sound like a chicken slaughter house ! We've done it a few times, for the same reason, but probably should do it more so he gets used to it. I've seen videos of birds running under the sink spray or just sitting there with their wings extended.
