You know how these little stinkers will practice something in secret and throw it at you only after they've perfected it? Her favorite thing to say is "Jade a good girl" with various emphases. Sometimes JADE a good girl. Or Jade a good girl? Or Jade a GOOD GIRL. She also says GOOD girl! and BIG girl and PRETTY girl. Yesterday she said "Jade a pretty girl!" clear as a bell. She has never said that before. She took one thing and another thing and made a new thing all by herself. I was so proud. I repeated it and encouraged her to say it again, but she wouldn't.

That's awesome! Does Jade know quite a few words/phrases?
I do know what you mean, about the practicing in secret. There are many times I will wake up, and Yoshi will think I'm still asleep, and he will be chattering away. Usually saying the same few things over and over, often times it's words or phrases I've never heard him say before, and often never hear again.

Oh, Jade can talk up a storm. She can out-talk all the others. "Whatcha doin'?" "Are you for real?" "Make your POINT, your POINT, your POINT!" "What IS the point?" "Peekaboo." "thank you" Just some examples. She learned most of those at her previous home. She came to us when she was 4 1/2 and just turned 14.

Jade is a clever parrot. It is impressive when a parrot invents new phrases all on its own.

I find it funny how they all seem to have that oppositional defiant streak and won't talk when WE want them to. Bonnie has given herself away on many occasions when she thinks we can't hear her, then all the things I've been trying to get her to say 'on demand' suddenly get said when we're not in the room. They are such little comedians. Well done with Jade!

She flew over to sit on my shoulder this morning when I went in to turn on their light and feed fish and because she was on my back, I didn't know if it was her or Clyde. Normally she chomps me when she does that and she didn't chomp, but just to be safe, I didn't turn my head. LOL I usually turn and give Clyde a kiss when he lands on me.
