Today is Jade's 14th birthday. She's the only one whose actual day I know for sure. I can make a close guess on Freddie's and Ringo's, I can make a ballpark guess on Benjy's, I have no idea about Clyde's or Rocky's, so their gotcha days have to suffice.
She loves attention and is my best talker by far, but she won't step up or allow any touching other than her beak, and then only when it's her idea. But she's silly and funny and loves to show off. On Sunday, she was shouting "Jade a good girl!" and held up one of her many bells and yelled it into the bell, then she wore the bell as a hat. She pulls tails if the others aren't fast enough to get out of reach (except Clyde's -- she's not THAT crazy) and every morning she invades Clyde's cage and they shriek at each other for a a few minutes until I can get to them and ring one of her bells to coax her back to her own cage. At first, she wanted to make friends with Clyde but he's a jerk and rejected her, and continues to reject any overtures.
I still hold out hope that one day she might decide to sit on me without chomping, but if she never does, that's okay.
