Jade went through a phase recently where she woke up and immediately invaded Clyde's cage (I never shut their doors anymore) and the two of them shrieked at each other until I went in their room and made her come out of his cage. Then he would come out -- because she blocked his way out until then -- and after that they were fine. She's a bit of a bully so I wasn't sure whether she was just being Jade or maybe was hoping for romance and Clyde was rejecting her as he always has. Then she stopped and I decided it was hormones and she was over it. But now she's doing it again. This morning she had both Clyde and Benjy trapped at the back of the cage, because Benjy sleeps in Clyde's cage, too, and all three of them were shrieking until I made her come out. Plus Freddie, who was on a boing, was shrieking just because they were. It makes for a lively morning, but oy. I suppose I could shut her door overnight and leave Clyde's open so Benjy isn't trapped in there with him in case Clyde has a grouchy fit, and that would prevent her from invading until I can get down there in the morning, but it seems unfair to lock her in when I don't lock the others in.

Maybe you should lock them ALL in and they might reflect on their behaviour...

What fun ! They all get together and squak! No need for an alarm clock in your house! Pretty funny! They all get along with each other for the most part with no dragged out fighting don't they? Just everyone has to tread on clyde's hood.

Being mating season... I would lock all cages just for a short while. They will adjust... and don't worry... you are not being mean... you are really being helpful.

There is no fear that Clyde and Jade will make babies together. Clyde hates her. They've lived with us for 10 years and no babies because he rejects any and all overtures decidedly and instantly, and she doesn't even offer anymore. The cage invading is just her being a brat.
