Has anyone out there ever had their quaker chew thru a screen? Years ago screens were metal ect.,but now they're made of vynal and tear easily. I didn't have a problem last year, but buddy was just a little guy then. He's screaming as I write this, looking out thee window and head bobbing...for all the quakers out there to seeI guess lol..thinking about when it gets warmer,I'd like to be able to open the window...but...?

I hope not. I screened in my front porch at great expense and so far Pidge ignores it. On the other hand, he found a loose thread on screen in bathroom and it now has a hole.

We don't have this problem (our windows - which are louvres - have tough security screens/mesh outside them. But when we were living in Melbourne we used to open the windows and Bonnie ignored the mesh/flywire completely.

I thought of something after I posted yesterday. I could put wire cooling racks that I use for breads cookies rolls ect.,between the screen and the room using the window itself for a brace. He has windows in front and both sides so I'll need plenty. I used to have mini blinds up there, but quite a while back,he got his leg caught in the rope and began screeming so I ran downstairs to see what's going on. I removed them that day.so I think doing this will give me peace of mind. Kinda like burglar bars in reverse! Now for the sliding door to the patio, the vacuum cleaner parked there should do the trick. Wanna have some fun? Try perching your bird, thinking of bonnie here..on the vacuum handle in the upright position lol...just if your bored one day!

Well haha actually, the hand vac is a good way to curb cage aggression...simply place it on top of bonnie s cage, wait for her to fly thru the wall to the neighbors house, then clean the cage ! See how easy they are to take care of?
