Hi. My name is Sheri.. live in North Carolina. I have had 2 Quakers when I was young. Waiting for late May to bring home my new family member.. a Quaker. Which should be hatching in the next week or so.

Welcome to the Forum! I imagine you'll be crossing the days off on the calendar until the end of May is here and you can bring your new QP home.

Welcome Sheri ! Anticipation of bringing the new baby into your home must be fun ! Your in good company here! Since you have experience with quakers,it should be a smooth transition. I'm a newbie of sorts. Had my lil buddy since may and he just turned 1 year old and he's still a baby ! Best of luck to you! Cheers !

Hi Sheri... nice to have you here. Have you thought of a name yet for your little one?? I know you are anxious however... it is good to be sure the baby is totally able to eat seeds before you take him home. Unless of course you have already raised babies...

When you see him you'll know whether that name will suit him.

Well my wait will be a little longer. Found out today that the clutch that I was waiting on to hatch.. the parent / parents cracked them all. Nice thing is.. there are others that are still to lay.
"Waiting for something you want, seems an eternity. To where once received seems so quick."

awww... that sad to hear. I wonder what happened that they did that? Maybe the parents knew they would not be healthy?
Good luck on the new batch.

Well long story.. made short. After 3.. yes 3 possible babies to get from different hatches. I have my baby home.. not sexed yet. DNA kit should be on the way. No Louie.. sad. 2nd one was named that by breeder.. but didn't make it. What hurts is recieving pictures of each baby to only end up with heartache. But on the bright side.. I have "Billy Butterbean H***". He is devine.. tonight he started practicing his sounds. He started laughing 2 days ago. Happy home full of laughter so of course that is first. I have him down to 2 hand feedings a day. And he is nibbling on his food. And sipping water. And loves a warm bath. I think he is part fish.. lol looking forward to making many years of memories with him. So excited.

Hello again, Sheri! Congratulations on your baby Billy. It must have been hard anticipating each baby only to have something go awry, but now you are OK. Billy sounds very feisty and cheeky (like all quakers!). I look forward to you sharing stories about him/her on the Forum!
