Jack my 11 month old quaker is very loveable....giving me kisses and picking at my hair till my fiance comes over and sits next to me. Then he starts biting at me....HARD....What is he trying to tell me??

Trust me, this is hormonal behaviour - put simply, he's jealous of your fiance and is reminding you that YOU, and only you, are his mate. :0
When he does this, if I were you, as soon as he bites either put him on the floor or put him in his cage for a few minutes of 'time out'. Then let him out again to let him prove he's learnt something...if he bites again, another time out, the third time I would just leave him in his cage. Just a suggestion.

Buddy has been doing the same thing for quite a while now..he has selected laura my girlfriend, as his mate. I'm really ok with this haha..but on the serious side, when he's with her as she is sitting in a chair,I kneel down next to the chair and just stay there, just a bit higher than he is. He will whip his neck up and down, cackle and open his beak at me,but stops and becomes sweet if I do this. For whatever reason,it works. I'm thinking because he doesn't see me as a threat. But the most important thing is that you stay there and not retreat..talk to him as you would to coax him, comfort words, with a voice infliction that is calm and hopefully, after a few times,he'll calm down. He is fearful and territorial in this situation ,but if he doesn't view you as a threat, all should be cool...buddy will still give me the eye too,but after a few minutes, he's looking to climb back on me as he regards me as Mr fun. Now I don't know how this will pan out over time because he is just 1 yr old yesterday,so maybe someone here with an older bird can chime in . Best of luck! Cheers..!
