Can anyone tell me how soon Quakers will generally start breeding and laying eggs this year? Still searching for my new baby to bring home. Hard to wait but want to find the right breeder and baby. I just went through seven years of trying to keep an unhealthy one alive. She was everything to me, but I don't want to go through that again if I can help it.

Are you in the US? I am in Australia and when we got Bonnie the chicks from her clutch hatched around late November. So if you're on the other side of the world it might be 6 months different (?). Am I thinking about this correctly? :0

No, that's about right I think. My previous baby's hatch date was in May so that's about right. She was weaned and came home in July. I was just hoping that maybe some are early breeders b/c I can't wait that long.

I'm in Liverpool, New York, USA. Ralph the QP was hatched October 1, and came home with me the following April. I believe that Scooter the CAG was hatched in January and her previous owner took her home in May.

I don't know much about this subject. I know spring is the natural breeding season for quakers. However, I just bought one hatched on 12/27/17. I would guess you could manipulate the amount of light they're getting and breed them anytime.
