Hi all I’m not a newbie parrot owner but I am new to Quaker the problem I’m having is I bought a 3 month old blue ringneck and then a few months later from the same breeder I bought another blue ringneck and a green Quaker the breeder said they wer both 3 months old and the Quaker and ringneck was bonded quickly within a week of being hear they love sharing the same cage food toys etc but the Quaker hates my other ringneck the 1 I bought a few months prior the problem I’m having is the Quaker seems to be obsessed with the ringneck it won’t let it out of its site always trying to groom kiss cuddle honestly it seems like it’s trying to mate with my ringneck every time I go near or even just speak to the ringneck the Quaker goes nuts I’m worried that when the fella sold me the Quaker an ringneck the Quaker might accsualy be a lot older than he said also I’m wondering if he’s sold me 1 part of a mating pair of Quakers that he couldn’t mate from I dnt no what to do and it’s getting out of hand my ringneck is harassed all day by the Quaker it’s cute in a way that they r bonded but then i feel so sorry for the ringneck I have accsualy seen the Quaker do its mating ritual an striking its tail up an down the ringneck back I’ve accsualy seen the Quaker dona Miley Cyrus an twerk itself wile walking backwards to the ringneck if there’s anyone out there that can shead some light on what I should do I’m all ears and would appreciate the help

Hi again, Liverpool lass! I replied to your other post. I think all your birds need to have their own separate cages, or else you will be in a boat load of trouble (behaviour-wise). The quaker is the dominant species...your ringnecks need to feel safe in their environment and not be stressed out by the quaker - hence, their own safe spaces are essential. You might find that when you separate your birds into their own cages your quaker will be more likely to bond to you, rather than to the other birds. Hope this helps....Keep us informed!

I have to second what biteybird said. Absolutely a must.
