Hi everyone, I'm not new to bird ownership (I've had a little canary for about 2 years now, and he brings me happiness every day) but I am new to parrot ownership! After continually spending time with my friend's 2y/o African Gray I've decided I want to become a parrot owner, just for something a little smaller, and so after doing some research I'm pretty much set on getting a quaker. I'm giving myself till June/July of this year so I have more time to research, and I'm here to learn lots before I make a final decision  |

Welcome aboard, quakers are awesome birds!!! They do require attention, but it's well worth the time. The bond that is formed is pretty awesome. We are here to help. If you have any questions, please, don't hesitate to ask.

Hey opalesce!! Welcome from chicago! Good choice for a smaller parrot in a quaker. The most affectionate,funny,smart,cute,trainable,talkative bird,all packed in to 4 ounces,that you can find ! Best luck on your search!

Hello to you in Western Canada eh?? Cool... I am in Northern Ontario and I guess not the perfect weather for a Quaker but he sure does love us and he has been quite the experience. When I decided on a Quaker I thought I had done enough research but nothing really prepared me for how smart they are and how much he would rule my life. He is the boss and I am his slave. (I guess I am a sucker for punishment lol)
Enjoy reading the various posts as that would be a great place to start. Looking forward to your company on here.
