Some of you may remember me from a few years ago. I had a quaker named Sonic. He sadly passed away, so I got a cockatiel. She is a sweet bird. My nephew had a cockatiel that accidently flew away asked if he could have mine. I just couldn't say no. He was so happy that as much as I miss her, it was worth it. Tomorrow I am going to a local bird store and getting a quaker!!! I am going to name it "Trump." I just can't wait. This store has some of the sweetest birds I have ever seen. The lady that runs it breeds her own birds, so there are not too many she hand feeds them herself.

Hey there, rickygonzalez, I remember you! Welcome back! It's sad that you are relinquishing your cockatiel girl (I'm sure you'll miss her and she will miss you too). Maybe you can visit? How great that you are getting another quaker - I know how upsetting it was to lose your Sonic. Are you getting a green or a blue quaker? And are you naming it 'Trump' because of the quaker mood swings? Looking forward to hearing more after you get your special friend tomorrow. Cheers!

hello biteybird, I sure can visit the cockatiel anytime. not to mention my nephew calls me daily to tell me how they are doing. I decided to name the quaker Trump because my dad doesn't care for the president very much, but I'm sure he will love the bird. So, in a sense he will love Trump... lol, my sense of humor is strange I know. I had not thought about the moody aspect, although, that fits too!!! lol Not sure what color I will get yet. I brought home a green one!!! He/she is three months old, it ran right over to me. He/she is a bit nippy, but I suppose its a part of getting a young bird. I am very happy.

Welcome back! I'm sure those of us who have been on the Forum for a while will remember you. Glad that you'll be welcoming another QP into your life. No doubt will be seeing you on the Forum quite often.

Welcome back ricky....and I hope you have better luck with this Quaker. It is always sad to loose a little loved one...but when you get a good healthy one... they can live many many years... up to 35 I believe.
Hope to see many posts on how things are coming along.
Take are

Thank you all. Little Trump is settling in nicely. He/she still does the quaking motion sometimes, which I had never seen in person. It's adorable!!!! Trump is eating well. Zupreem naturals, had some kale, sweet potato, and strawberries this morning. Made a mess, but ate quiet a bit.

Lil trump sounds like he's doing great..good going on the diet for him. My guy, buddy, isn't too picky about likes really and is on Zupreem 60/30 /10 as well. He would do the quaking thing untill he was 6 months old I think. He's 11 months now. The head shaking part of that he still does as part of his "boogie" act. We would stand in front of him and quake ourselves, "wings " and all and say boogie..now he uses it in the same way to beg for a treat ! So much fun ! Cheers!
