hi all,
I have been gone for a while but have come back as I am in need of some advice. I am having to consider finding a new home for Gypsie and Tango... Even writing this breaks my heart.
The situation is this: as I am currently studying and on placement I am unable to work, thus we are living on my husbands income alone. this wasn't an issue until our house mates (my sister in law and her husband) decided to buy a house and leave our rental before the lease is up in January - forcing us to either foot the bills alone or move. we are having so many issues finding a place we can afford to live and can take the parrots with us. this is mainly due to the noise factor, especially at the moment being spring and hormones are raging.
The next consideration is that Andrew and i had a pregnancy scare which forced us to consider how the quakers would tolerate and interact with babies and children - not well considering they HATE my niece and nephew's... we are hoping to start a family in the next couple of years and we dont want to neglect the quakers just because we have less time... it is already hard to provide them with adequate attention now while i am studying.
this is made worse by the fact that they have never liked my husband and now, for some reason, they have decided to go out of their way to attack him- meaning that i am the only one able to go near them.
while i love them so SO much, i am starting to feel that i am not giving them as much attention as they deserve - time which will only be reduced as we get more commitments (full time work/family), we are having an impossible time finding somewhere to live for the next year and they are terrorizing my husband...
can anyone suggest anything other than finding them a new home? or tell me what you would do in my situation? i am so torn - i love them but i am starting to think that i should have waited until later in life before i got them, instead of getting them when i was 18...
thank you in advance to anyone who took the time to read this post and make any suggestions..
