Ive had my blue Quaker now for nearly 4 years w/o any health issues. I give him the best care, frequent check-ups by a qualified avian-vet. On New Year's Day he began vomiting. Appear lethargic...lasts a day or so then he is back to normal. This is been going on ever since...several days with ni issues then he vomits. Our Avian-vet has conducted every test imaginable. She is stumped.
The only thing that has changed in 4 years was the introduction of a new bird into our home three weeks prior to this behavior. This new bird was quarantined and has a clean bill of health by my Avian-vet. This new bird is not mine he belongs to my wife. Because my bird is so bonded to me our Vet is considering the jealous factor. Has anyone experienced any of this with thier Quaker. I really am getting concerned. Thank you all

I have a gut feeling that this vomit is your Quaker trying to feed you. They will regurgitate their food for their mate. Eventually spitting it out. My Quaker will do this for long periods of time... but seldom does he actually spit it out. Now... if this is not what you are seeing then it could be just nerves. Quakers hate change... and bringing another bird into the home is a huge change for them.... and yes... they can be very jealous.
If he is eating well... poops are good... and the vet gives him basically a good bill of health... then you have nothing to worry about. This stage will pass but it will take time. Quakers are very slow to accepting differences.
Best of luck.

Buddy has done this too,but to laura my girlfriend and his mate!threw up on her once. Don't remember the lethargic part tho so that's confusing I suppose. It's his way of saying that he could be a good provider if you were to choose him as a mate. He was quite proud as she was dressed up for work with a puke line of seeds and whatever down the sleeve of her sweater haha. Keep us posted tho..hopefully nothing serious develops.
