Well... instead of travelling this winter we decided to update our kitchen and poor Oscar... he is paying the price. You know how much Quakers do not like change and my kitchen and living room change daily.
China cabinets moved... people in and out wearing hats (and Oscar hates hats) floor covered in plastic... me on a ladder... sander going... plastering... ripping out the kitchen counter tops... big ladders... paint brushes changing everything.... my poor little baby boy.
And what does he do to handle this??? Believe it or not... he talks... and talks... and talks... lol. He will be on the living room cage (which I can see from the kitchen) and he will start with all his little whistles and grunts... and sneezes... etc. Then one day he decided to show me all the new words he has learned... OMG... it was soooooo cute.
Bye bye
Raymond come
Hey hey hey
All gone
It's okay
What's that
Tie tie.... Tie tie
and of course he repeated so many of his other words... Mommy... mama... mamoooo... mamamamamamma lol... It's not ready yet.... yummy... tickle tickle... ha haaa choooooo.... (his famous sneezes lol)
Yes... it has been fun listening to him talk to me... especially since he knows I can see him and I repeat back to him what he says. BUT... he is also scared. Huge ladders and me standing on the table ... or cupboards doors being removed... all scare him. I try my best to comfort him but the work has to get done. I am really anxious for my new counter tops to come in because I know Oscar will be looking beyond the surface.
You know when they see depth??? He will tilt his head sideways and stare deep into the counter top as there will be bits of rock and glass and mirror broken inside it. The counter top is called Quartz... it is man made... and absolutely beautiful and sparkly. I am looking forward to Oscars' stare into the material. lol
Things are good... He is managing as best he can and I am helping him best I can.
