I've had a nasty cold this week and have been completely drained of energy. So I spent a lot of time lying on the sofa. My head was just a few inches from Ralph's cage, so he decided to keep me entertained with tapping games. I didn't feel much like playing, but couldn't disappoint Ralph, so I tapped back. Scooter didn't want to be left out, so she entertained me with her entire repertoire of beeps and boops. Whenever I reached for the box of Kleenex, she'd imitate the sound I make when I blow my nose. The parrots are such a help when I'm not feeling well.

They obviously feel it's their responsibility to keep the bread winner in tip-top shape. Hope you're feeling a bit better now.

That's really lovely. Shah is the worst nurse in the world and doesn't tolerate me being ill. Get better soon.

Thanks-- I am feeling somewhat better. With so much flu in the area, I'm happy it wasn't that, though it has been a miserable cold. I'm lucky to have the parrots to keep me from getting bored while resting.

awwww.... sorry you were ill and isn't that so cute that Scooter would make the sounds of you blowing your nose... lol... I love that. Take care. Thank you! Scooter sounds more congested than I do when she "blows her nose." There are a few versions of the common cold going around in this area now. I got stuck with the one with the cough than lingers for a few weeks. I expect at least one parrot will be coughing along with me soon.

Shah coughs when I cough - it is funny but quickly becomes annoying as he just goes on and on. He also sneezes when I sneeze.

George the YCA learned a cough in one of his precious homes that sounded terrible, and would go on and on. He also picked up my aunt's distinctive cough and mine too. Nobody's coughing here now but me. I had to teach Ralph how to sneeze because my strong sneezes frightened him. His imitation sneezes are a lot gentler than my original ones. I try to give warning when I feel a sneeze coming on so I won't startle the parrots.

ha ha ha.. cnyguy... that is funny. I do sneeze quietly but I have taught Oscar to sneeze quite funny... He always goes... haaaa haaaa haaa chooooo... and then again... haaaa haaa haaaaa chooo... He will do this over and over (when in the mood) at least 15 times. Really a cute noise.
He has not made the sounds of me blowing my nose or coughing yet... but I expect it will come. I can certainly understand Jan... that it can become annoying at times. Unfortunately Oscar will not do this when I do it... he only does it when he thinks we aren't paying attention or are in the other room.

My sneezes are rather powerful. Ralph does a quiet little "Choo! Choo!" sound and will do it if I ask him to sneeze (if he's in the mood, of course). No parrots are coughing here yet, but I think it's a matter of time. Today was a particularly rough day with my coughs, and I can only take so much of the cough medicine.

Thanks, julianna. I'm not coughing nearly as much. And the parrots still aren't coughing at all.
