I live in Bradley Illinois, 65 million. south of Chicago. I have 1 Quaker Parrot that has been visiting my bird feeders since about August. It visits my feeders about 3 times a day. In the reading I have done it talks about pairs or groups. I have only 1 so far, it is green with partial gray and green head, gray breast green body with green wings with some blue under feathers. If I could get onto your forum I would send pics. Looking for info, why is it alone?

From your description, that is the standard green Quaker. My guess would be that you're seeing someone's escaped (or released) pet. I understand there are wild flocks in the Chicago area, but this one has probably not met up with them. I'm don't know how difficult it is to be accepted by a new flock. Have you tried approaching him? He may not be ready for an Illinois winter.

Welcome. Easttex may be right-- the Quaker visiting your feeder may be someone's lost pet. It is unusual, but not impossible, for a single naturalized QP to show up at a feeder. See if your visitor will approach you, or let you approach him. If it turns out that he is a missing pet, then you can try to locate his owners.
