Hi this is my first post, my Quaker parrot is sick with fatty liver and after researching what is best to do, I know i will have to change her diet. However I wanted to know what Detox product is best for her(effective and/or safe to use) or if both can be used together or alternately. These products are Avitech Milk Thistle/Dandelion Liver Detox and Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Detox. Thank you for your help

My Quaker was put on milk thistle, which the vet compounded herself. I preferred to get it from her because there seem to be so many issues with of over-the-counter supplements and getting what you pay for. As far as interactions, your best bet is to check with your vet.

I'm afraid I know nothing about fatty liver disease and its treatment - but I just want to say "welcome" to the Forum.  Hope you find the best treatment for your little friend. Easttex know what she's talking about, so I'd follow her advice and go through the vet. |
