It's turned chilly -- though still warm for Illinois in fall -- and last night I changed the birds' room summer curtains for the winter ones, which are heavy and lined and keep out drafts better than the flimsy summer curtains. The side effect of this is that it's as dark as night in there even in the morning, and if there's one thing birds hate, it's being awakened when they think it's still night time. LOL Still, I have to open their curtains and feed the fish and turn on the lights and such in the morning before I go to work or they'd be in the dark all day and they wouldn't like that, either. The upshot is that I got a good scolding from all five in the bird room when I disturbed them this morning and only Jade was willing to give me a kiss (her version: I touch her beak and she lets me). Maybe they'll forgive me by the time I get home from work.

It has gotten chilly lately here in Illinois, hasn't it?! It almost feels like we skipped that "nice" fall weather (at least down here in southern Illinois). Went straight from fairly warm to very chilly.
I understand what you're saying about the birds don't like to be awakened early! Yesterday morning I had to get them up at 4:30 AM, otherwise they would have been covered and in the dark all day (and possibly through the night and next day, if they had decided to keep me overnight after my surgery). Neither of them wanted to come out of their happy hut, and just kept staring at me like "what the hell?!". After I got home yesterday evening, Yoshi was mad at me and wouldn't come out of his cage for about 10 minutes. He finally came around, tho.

Oh Zim, hope you are recovering OK. Sorry to hear you've been unwell. Thanks. I had to have my gallbladder removed. Everything went well, I'm just really really sore now!

That isn't a small surgery... sorry to hear about that Zim.... I am sure you will feel a whole lot better in time. Take good care of yourself.

Birds do not care if you're sore. They make messes and demand attention just the same. LOL Did they do it laparoscopic or regular incision?
