Somehow, Yoshi managed to scrape the back of his leg while I was asleep. I awoke to this. It's dried over and isn't bleeding any more, but I'm still worried about infection. Is there any way I should treat this? I think it's only a scrape, as he walks fine on it and is otherwise acting like nothing is wrong.

Yikes! Sorry, I'm clueless but just want to offer moral support. Hope it heals OK.

It looks much better this morning. I guess he cleaned it last night before he went to sleep. Will continue to keep an eye on it I guess, and hope all is good.

I had a cream from a vet that I got for Allie after she crash landed and banged up her breastbone a little. Silver nitrate solution rings a bell, but I can't swear to that. I also have something over the counter called HealX Soother Plus. It's edible, which is important, and it has both antibiotic and analgesic qualities. I don't know if it's still available. If not, I hope it was replaced by something because many people raved about it.

Neosporin? Soap and water? Birds heal amazingly fast (I have an accident-prone budgie, who has provided me with this knowledge, LOL) so probably the soap and water solution is the best. A day or two and you'll never know it happened. Use Dawn dishwashing liquid for the soap; it's safe for birds. I'm sure you have already done this part, but see if you can figure out what he scraped his leg on. Maybe a sharp something in the cage and you could remove the thing to keep it from happening again?

His green feathers are just so gorgeous in those photos - can't stop admiring them.
