Sugar is about 21. We got her when she was 5-6 months old, but don’t know the exact date she was born, but have had her for 20 years. So 21 is our guess.

Chewy (our little green chicken) is about 12 years old and Taz (our Cockatiel) is about 14. It's crazy how fast time goes!! 🐦

Old thread but here’s an update. Niki was 25 1/2. I’m sad to say he passed yesterday. He fell and died from his injuries.. It was very quick fortunately and I was with him. He died in my hand. I miss him so much. I think I’m fine and then I’ll start sobbing. I have a feeling it will be like this for a while.

My Sam is sixteen and getting more cheeky every day. I guess age has its entitlement as he is getting very bold, and he tries stuff out that used to scare him. He steals my pens from my desk and chews on the plastic clips, spitting out the pieces. He also refuses to bathe. Our home is very dry, so I have to spritz him with warm water every so often. The only thing I worry about is the pin feathers on his head and neck which seem to last forever and must aggravate him. In fact he seems irritable, which is not like him. Any suggestions, anyone? Deana.

I am so sorry to hear of Niki's passing. I can't imagine the pain of losing such a loved part of the family. I wish you much peace and take comfort knowing you will see him again in heaven one day.

My Quaker parrot will be 19 next month. I hope she lives a long time. I have a Quaker and a Sun. I love them both but I feel more connected with my Quaker, maybe because she has been through so much.

Willow is 9 or 10 yrs old. Lucy lived to be 24. She had substantial physical disabilities most of her life but she was the most wonderful and amazing bird companion ever. It was like living with the Buddha.

My Sam is 22 years old and seems healthy and active. I must say he is getting a bit bold and cheeky in his old age....putting one foot on a food prep board which is forbidden territory, and giving me that look of challenge! I had some canteloupe seeds drying under a cloth on another food section, and the wee rascal waited
until I was in another room to uncover them and grab a few!
Having a bit of crop problem (see health section), but happy guy, uses his outdoor toilet, knows every word I say, even when I'm talking to myself!
