Today was Ralph's 8th Hatchday. I think he enjoyed his special day, spending time in the kitchen (his favorite place to play) and getting some special treats (cinnamon donut and extra-sharp cheddar cheese). I got him some organic rice cakes and some new popsicle sticks to chew up (the only thing he really likes to chew). No actual parrot toys, since he usually ignores those, finding things like spoons and sticks more fun to play with.

Oh, WOW, I can't believe the Gentleman Quaker is 8. It doesn't seem long since you posted about his last hatchday. (Maybe I'm getting old and time is moving faster) Happy Birdthday, Ralph! Glad to hear Gary was well-trained enough to get you some of your favourite foods. from Bonnie & her humans

Maybe I'm getting old and time is moving faster I'm positive that age has nothing to do with it-- time is definitely speeding up. Ralph and I thank everyone for their hatchday greetings. Unfortunately, Ralph's dad was too preoccupied (and/or too lazy ) to bake a cake, but Ralph was quite happy with the little taste of his favorite rare treat, cinnamon donut, which he shared with Scooter (she likes them too). Supposedly, Scooter can say "happy birthday," but I couldn't coax her into saying it to Ralph-- the best we got from her was a few quacks yesterday. And Ralph quacked back.

He's old enough for third grade this year! But of course, The Gentleman Quaker knows all he needs to know already.

...and who better to explain bi-polar disorder than a quaker parrot? Not only that, but one with etiquette.
