I think (hope) I fixed it before too many people were affected...the domain name expired again! I can't believe it's been a year since the HUGE fiasco happened! But, it's fixed for another year! Yay!!!!
I don't post much anymore, but I still love this place as much as ever!

I'm still alive and well! Things have been crazy here since February, but I think my life is going to calm down fairly soon.
I've been taking care of a friend, who I half jokingly call my "foster adult". We met in high school and he's 13 days younger than me, but he started using drugs and alcohol as a teenager so that's about where his brain development stopped. He's a teenager in an adult's body.
I've spent the last five years trying to help him (We spent many nights in the ER after his suicide attempts/cries for help) but he wasn't ready to get clean and sober until a year ago, and wasn't ready to get intensive help until February. I think it was February 4th, my friend was about to walk in front of a train, but he texted me instead asking if I had time to talk to him. He said "I want help." and I said "Okay, I can get you help. Are you willing to talk to someone on the phone - they will ask you some questions." He said yes, so I took him home and set my plan in motion.
It's taken a long time but I think he'll have a place to live soon, he had the final fitting for his dentures yesterday (drugs kill your teeth) and he'll have them in hand/mouth in a week. He's so excited. ☺
He had one major setback in July, but he's been clean and sober since then. He's been in the hospital for a lot of that time, but we're getting there.
Anyway, that's what I'm up to. LOL

Hi, Dani. Good to see you back on the Forum. I guess you have been busy. You're certainly a good and loyal friend and have been a tremendous help to your high school friend. Ralph and Scooter are fine and keep me hopping as always. I'm shopping for a new place to live after some rent increases have put a strain on the budget. So far, the only decent places I've found won't take the parrots, and I'm going nowhere without them. Nothing much else new or different here. |

Hi Dani... always so nice to hear from you. You have a big heart that is for sure. What a lucky man he is. Oscar and me are fine. I have been walking a husky a lot (2 hours every morning) and I mean "every" morning.. lol. Oscar is fat and happy ... lol. He is molting now so is a little calmer for some reason.
We have been doing a lot of travelling and Oscar has been at the sitters for weeks at a time. It all goes well... and he still loves me... lol
Drop us a line now and again... miss you.
