Bird cages should be made in newspaper sizes.

Newspapers should be made in the shape of birds.

Pigs on the porch just made things hotter, and things were hot enough already. It has nothing to do with birds, but it's my favorite sentence from Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove. I think of it a lot.

We have one newspaper here that I love for Oscar's cage. It is called the Toronto Star. The tv guide that is with the Saturday edition fits perfectly. Two pieces and they lay perfect across the bottom of his cage. I actually make my hubby go buy one every Sat. so I have them for the cage... lol. The rest of the newspaper fits on the top shelf of Oscars' cage in the living room where he eats.
Our own Daily newspaper... does not fit but I make the best of it by using it on the floor around the two cages.

Self-cleaning parrot cages would be even better. In Ralph's cage, I find that two folded tabloid supplements from the newspaper, along with two folded broadsheet pages, will cover the bottom. Scooter's larger cage is covered by two open broadsheet pages which overlap a bit. Not perfect, but it gets the job done.

There should be little caps (like those to put on cat's claws) to put on sharp beaks. Birdy retainers

I guess I got lucky - A full newspaper sheet fits the tray in Yoshi's cage pretty much perfectly!

Hahaha, I share Zim's luck! We get a free newspaper delivered to our flat every few weeks and the paper is perfect for Maya's cage. No one else in our building uses them, so I always just take the whole batch. Free birdie bedding! It's great.

I have to admit I never buy the newspaper, but the other day I was forced to, as my birdie cage supplies were getting low. And the ones we have aren't too awkward in size, either.

Two pieces of our local paper overlapped a big fit perfectly in Casey s cage. And thankfully our friend drops papers off to kids houses, so getting paper is as easy as going to his truck and grabbing a left over bundle

Birds should be self cleaning. Then they can learn to do the housework.

Birds should be self cleaning. Then they can learn to do the housework. Hahaha, this is so true. Maya seems to think I need constant practise so throws everything on the floor to make sure I have plenty to vaccuum up!
