I have a question...Please help!! We just got a couple of Quaker parrots (boy & girl) we were told that are about 5-6 weeks old We are now manual feeding them (with a syringe) but we want to know when they'll be big enough to start eating on their own and what kind of food we should start them with any information will help!!! thanks

Hi Emy and welcome to the forum! I've never had a parrot as young as yours, but if I did, I'd follow the advice on the main site here: www.quakerparrots.com/?s=weaningGo down the page and start with the article called "Abundance Weaning." (By the way, you'll see seeds mentioned in some of the other articles, but I would not start out using them for weaning a Quaker. A small amount of seed is okay, but not all seeds are equal and they are best as a treat. A good overall diet for a Quaker is mainly a high quality pellet, supplemented by veggies and a little fruit.) If you have questions after reading, someone here will try to help. Good luck!

Hi emy... and welcome to the forum. Since you have babies I hope you stick around and read some of the articles that have been posted here. There is a lot of information available concerning Quakers that you might not be aware of.
